
Laura Dower
Best-selling author Laura Dower knows how to connect with students from grades K-8 and show them how to be inspired and confident writers. Once a busy Creative Director for Scholastic Inc., Laura worked on some of the best books-and with some of the best authors-in the business. Now a full-time author herself, Laura has developed writing workshops to jump-start one-of-a-kind writing adventures inside the classroom.
Laura has written more than 125+ books for young readers of all ages including the top-selling For Girls Only and middle grade book series’ like From the Files of Madison Finn (Disney/Open Road New Media) and Dessert Diaries (Capstone). Other writing project clients include Scholastic,Fountas and Pinnell Literacy, American Girl, Mattel, Columbia Tri-Star, Disney, Star Wars Kids, and the Museum of Natural History. Recently, Laura has been a ghostwriter and developmental editor for several adult nonfiction and memoir titles. Although she spends most of her time writing, Laura’s favorite thing to do is give young students a “writing field trip” in the classroom or after school. She lives in New York with her family.
