Susan Hood

Susan Hood is the award-winning author of more than 200 books for ages 1-14, including picture books, poetry, beginning readers, middle grade novels-in-verse, biographies, and works of nonfiction. As a former editor with Sesame Street, Nick Jr., and Scholastic, Susan LOVES speaking to kids ages Pre-K to Grade 8 and enjoys traveling across the country and internationally.

Her books have received an E.B. White Honor Award, two Christopher Medals, the SCBWI Golden Kite Award, and two Bank Street Flora Stieglitz Straus Awards (given to a “distinguished work of nonfiction that serves as an inspiration for young people”). Her books are also the winners of many state reading awards and have been honored as NCSS, NCTE Poetry, and Sydney Taylor Notable Books.
